Jesus Sustains
September 22 | Discipleship Guide
Be Real Together:
Take a few minutes to catch up, tell stories, and laugh together. Trust and friendship take time to build. If you’re launching a new DNA, one person should tell their story — what do we need to know about you? Next week, have another person in your DNA share their story.
Read Together: Mark 4:35-36 CSB
This week we took a closer look at a literal storm in the disciples lives. In Mark 4:35-36, Pastor Sean discussed the reality that as followers of Jesus we all face difficult and challenging circumstances in life. We are all going to face things that we feel like we can’t handle but “greater things are possible when Jesus is in our boat.”
The One Question:
Ask this question at your family meal or Discipleship Group.
Think of a time in your life when you weren’t sure how you would make it through.
How did you see Jesus working in those circumstances?

Grow Together:
Use these questions to go deeper with your DG or for personal study.
Jesus calls the disciples faith ‘little,’ but the disciples DID have faith. They didn’t continue bailing water out of the ship, they turned to Jesus they said "LORD, Save Us". When Jesus calls their faith little, he is asking them to believe for bigger things.
1. Do you have a tendency to get frustrated and give up? What might it look like for you to have big faith?
In Colossians 1:15-17 we learn that Jesus holds EVERYTHING together. He sustains us in ways we cannot sustain ourselves. He strengthens, supports, nourishes, and holds US together.
2. What are some ways that you lean on Jesus in the midst of struggle? Are there new ways of relying on His strength that you want to try in the future?
